Very classy motel right on esplanade a little walk to rest of town
We did in fact leave the room cleaner than when we arrived. Probably would not recommend unless the price was significantly reduced. You do not get what you pay for. Three stars because it reminded me of an old fashioned 3-star motel - but not as clean! For example, upon arrival the kitchenette had crumbs on the bench and the kitchen cupboards were dirty with food stains. The crockery was also dirty and needed to be re-washed. We had one glass, no tea towel, dish cloths or dishwashing detergent. Dirty walls, light switches and carpets were also an issue- given the price they charge per night and their advertisement as a luxury hotel. I went to reception to request these items and mentioned the room was not clean. No apology or concern-but I was given these items without too much hassle. We stayed in the peak Summer season so I imagine their resources might have been a bit stretched. Still, this is not an excuse in the hospitality industry; basic standards should be maintained.

We arrived at Bellevue on the Lakes and were immediately in shock. The room was filthy covered in black dirt all over the floor, spa and sink. The bin had been tipped over, furniture was moved with random cups, cutlery and other items lying around. The bed looked like someone had been lying on it and the air conditioner was torn apart with pieces all over the floor. As as it was after-hours we had to wait for the security to come (about 30mins) which he then moved us to a downgraded room. We had booked the spa suite as we specifically wanted the spa but were instead put into a room without one.The next day we were rudely greeted by the manager Pattie. Pattie displayed no empathy, compassion or understanding to our situation. For example, when I stated my frustration about having to wait 30 minutes for security to arrive, Pattie responded with oh 30 minutes is not long to wait. But we shouldnt have even needed to wait at all!! Also, when I expressed my disappointment about being moved into a downgraded room, she rudely responded with an attitude "the (new) room was a lovely room and the only difference was no spa and about $20. But we specifically booked this room for the spa regardless of the price! Pattie also did not provide us with an explanation at the time of what happened nor, did she offer to compensate us with anything.Pattie stated that we would receive only a refund for the difference in the prices of the two rooms ($49). When I asked to speak to the owners as I believed this was completely unfair and we should have been compensated more for the inconvenience and time lost Pattie went on to say Well what do you want? We are only humans and we make mistakes. Whilst yes we all make mistakes, the customers should not need to pay for the hotels mistake!! Pattie then said the $49 refund for the difference in rooms is all we should get as you still stayed in the room, right?.Our weekend away was certainly no holiday and its a shame that our first trip to Lakes Entrance was ruined by a preventable mistake in the hotel system, followed by extremely poor customer service and the failed attempt and lack of responsibility taken by Bellevue on the Lakes to compensate and rectify matters. As customers of Bellevue on the Lakes we are shocked, appalled and disappointed in their service provided and will definitely not be recommending this hotel nor will we ever want to come back.
