Stayed here one night at the invitation of a friend, Ian recently (early February) in one of their cabins. The park was quite well set out and quiet although there was a yappy dog nearby at what would have been a permanent residents' caravan that woke me up so this would have meant that anyone nearby could have been disturbed. It was a short drive to the main shops and a couple of streets back from the main drag but that meant it probably was a little quieter than similar parks that would have been closer. It had a service block in the middle that had a covered bbq area, laundry and toilets which were clean and well-appointed. The cabin was clean and well-maintained with adequate furnishings and good design. Pity about the tv though, Ian only seemed to be able to get the ABC on it! It wasn't the "prettiest" of parks, ie didn't have lots of gardens, trees etc so if you like visual appeal it won't suit. Not sure of the price as I didn't pay so I don't know about the value. Would stay there again.
Smaller caravan park very clean I stayed in a cabin fully equipped with what we needed. Friendly and welcoming staff Great place to stay will definitely being going back

My family and I have been coming down to Lakes Main for years. We usually go with a few extended families and the tent areas are always clean. The ambience is pretty great; most campers respect one another and clean up after themselves. The kitchen area could use a little bug spraying; having breakfast with spiders is not really a great camping experience. Everyone's pretty good with sharing space in the fridge/freezer. Bathrooms and laundry room are clean also. My only concern is the lack of security. The back of the park doesn't border anything. One year we went, a group of youths jumped the fence and loitered around the park, rummaging through the fridge and taking someone's alcohol. It was quite late at night too, around 2am, and I only came across them as I was grabbing a quick drink. I'm sure it was a one time thing but people should be mindful just in case. other than yet, I've yet to have a bad experience at Lakes Main :)
